1 Hour Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients 

3 Cups Warm Water (110 degrees)

1 TB Active Dry Yeast (I like Instafirm)

2/3 Cups Local Honey

7 1/2 Cups Regenerative Whole Wheat Flour

1 TB Sea Salt

Butter to spread on top of the bread

PREP TIME: 30 MIN

COOK TIME: 25 MIN

TOTAL TIME: 55 MIN

Directions

  • Place warm water in large mixing bowl. Add yeast and stir in honey and let proof (5-10 min)

  • Add oil, flour and salt. Begin by adding 7 Cups of regenerative whole wheat flour. Start to mix using the dough hooks on mixer. Add remaining 1/2 cup of flour until dough pulls away from sides of mixing bowl. Knead for 10 minutes at medium - high speed. If you don't own a stand mixer, knead by hand.

  • Place a little oil on hands and shape into 2 brea loaves. Grease pans and put dough into pans

  • Cover with plastic wrap and let rise until dough doubles in size

  • Place loaves in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes

  • Check bread to see if it is golden brown. Once bread is done, remove from oven and spread butter all over warm loaves. Let cool for several minutes before removing from pan.

  • Spread butter, jam, or honey on warm bread and enjoy!

  • Refrigerate left overs or freeze
