When we first hatched the idea of launching a direct-to-consumer business for our whole grain, it was like planting a seed of trust between our farm and your kitchen table. We wanted to show that non-organic farming can produce nutritious and clean food—yes, you heard that right! Eating better food to fuel our bodies is a noble quest, but let’s face it, sourcing DIRECT from the farm isn’t exactly a walk in the park. That’s where our website, social media, and online presence come in to save the day (and your dinner plate).
I mean, let’s be real: while we dream of having all our customers frolicking through our fields, shaking hands with us under the sun, we know that reality has a funny way of keeping people busy. So, in our quest to spread the gospel of Guardian Grains, we’ve been gracing a few podcasts with our presence. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be linking and highlighting different episodes where you can hear straight from the farmers’ mouths about HOW we grow those ancient wheats, WHY soil conservation is the unsung hero of our food system, and WHAT we’re doing to ensure our grains are not just nutritious but also free from any unwanted chemical guests. In this first session I was interviewed by Alex a customer I met at our local Farmers Market in Minot. We hope these coming episodes will help our customers and buyers get a better feel for our purpose as farmers and trusted food growers.
